Description:

Remsen Recycling Program

Remsen Recycling Program tokens are issued at the Remsen Town Hall.

The Town of Remsen is pleased to offer the Town of Remsen Recycling Program to its residents. The opportunity to participate in the Recycling Program is available to all property owners in the Town of Remsen and operates on the grounds of the Town of Trenton Recycling Center. Individuals who DO NOT OWN PROPERTY in the Town of Remsen are not eligible to participate.

Under the Recycling Program, Remsen residents are entitled to the privilege of visiting the Town of Trenton Recycling Center on a dedicated Town of Remsen Day each month. Remsen residents are free to bring pick-up truck loads of items at their convenience during the hours of operation from 2pm-8pm on the 3rd Monday of each month, January through December. Remsen residents may visit the Center as many times as they like on Remsen Days during the hours of operation.

Remsen residents are also allowed to participate in Shred Day. On Shred Day, six banker boxes of documents may be brought to the Town of Trenton Highway Garage to be shredded on site.

A Remsen resident seeking to exercise the privilege of using the Town of Trenton Recycling Center, as described above, is required to visit the Remsen Town Hall and provide proof of ownership of a parcel of land within the boundaries of the Town of Remsen (You must provide a current Town and County Tax bill). The resident will then be required to sign a registry in exchange for an official identification token. The token may then be taken to the Town of Trenton Recycling Center and presented to the staff at the facility each time you visit. The resident will also be required to sign a registry book at the time of his or her visit, for Town of Trenton record keeping purposes.

Remsen residents are required to make an initial visit to the Remsen Town Hall to sign a registry book in order to retrieve a unique token to help eliminate the chances of a non-resident abusing this valuable privilege. Please be advised that the Town of Trenton reserves the right to refuse any resident who does not present the official token when attempting to use the facility. If a Remsen resident uses the vehicle of another individual to dispose of their items, the resident who signed for the token MUST accompany the driver of the vehicle at the time of disposal and present his or her token. The tokens are non-transferable and must be used by the property owner to which it was assigned. The Town of Remsen will retain the responsibility of verifying the legitimacy of a resident’s right to exercise the privilege of using the Recycling Center.

Activities:

This year the program will run from January through December. Remsen residents will also be allowed to participate in Shred Day. On Shred Day, six banker boxes of documents may be brought to the Town of Trenton Highway Garage to be shredded on site.
