Minutes….A Special meeting of the Remsen Town Board was held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 and called to order by Supervisor Roger Helmer at 1:10PM at the Remsen Town Hall.

Superintendent Roberts informed the Board that he and Clerk Allen attended the kick-off meeting for the BRIDGENY award on the 16th. Representatives from Oneida County and the State DOT were present to discuss the process and requirements for the project. The next step is consultant selection. The grants are federally funded and thus the consulting engineering firm must be selected from a list of fifteen pre-approved firms.
Following the meeting the representatives from Oneida County offered to assist both the Town of Remsen and the Village of Whitestown with their respective projects by stepping in to take-over the process including consultant selection, all permitting and outlay of funds for the course of the project at no cost. The Board reviewed and discussed the materials from the kickoff meeting.
Resolution #9 -17 was offered by Duane Jones to enter into an agreement with Oneida County Department of Transportation Officials to handle the administrative responsibilities related to the BRIDGENY grant at no charge to the Town of Remsen. Seconded by Roger Helmer. Ayes –Helmer, Jones, Wilcox, Hamilton. Nays – 0.
